about me

Augustus is a 23 year old writer / producer / filmmaker located in Brooklyn, New York. Having received his BFA in Film and Television Production from New York University TISCH School of the Arts, he is well-versed in the world of filmmaking, content creation, and scriptwriting. Born and raised in a small New Hampshire town, he made the move to the big city in 2019 and has lived in NYC ever since. Growing up transgender, much of August’s adolescent life focused around promoting LGBTQ activism and support, which lead to him dedicate his adult life to telling stories that center around the trans/queer experience.

His writing style can be described as humorously surreal and authentically queer. He gravitates towards the comedic, dramedy, and thriller genres, using them as tools to craft complex narratives that, through analogy and symbolism, mirror real life. He has also dedicated many of his works to telling stories relating to his experience as a trans person. His 2022 short film, Beneath the Skin, tells the story of a trans person who is being stalked by a faceless, bone-chilling creature which appears to them during times of intimacy. His 2023 television pilot, Acting Human, is a 30-minute comedy which follows the life of newly-out Noel, a trans teenager returning to high school in his new identity. Though August does enjoy writing for the big screen, his ultimate career goal is to become a staff writer for a television series. He would love to work for shows like The Boys, Fargo, and The Bear.

August has also worked in such roles as camera assistant, art director, and the grip & electric department. In 2023 he completed the Reelworks IATSE Studio Mechanics Grip Program, earning his OSHA certification and qualifying him to work as a grip on any Local 52 production. Last year he had the pleasure of art directing two NYU thesis films, one of which is making its debut at Cannes international film festival. In 2022 August completed his residency at the school of FAMU in Prague, CZ. There he studied the craft of shooting film on the Arriflex 35, emerging himself in the vibrant culture of Eastern Europe.

August is currently open to work, and is excited to find the next big opportunity to launch him forward in his blossoming career.
